Capabilities
Working as an embedded partner, I focus on discovery and definition, identifying emerging opportunities and shaping new products. The result is a clear strategy and the momentum to reach launch.
Services
Discovery and definition answer two different questions, and the stage you’re at determines which one you need.
Discovery turns an idea into an opportunity.
I help you better understand your users and your market. I run interviews and contextual inquiry, review the competitive landscape, size the market, and build proofs of concept. I synthesize it all into a prioritized map of opportunities worth pursuing.
Definition turns an opportunity into a product.
I work with you to establish the product vision, target segments, business model, and value proposition. From there, I define the core use cases, feature set, and user journeys as working prototypes. By the end, you have a roadmap for launch.
Approach
Advances in AI tooling have changed how product discovery and product definition get done. Ideas can be built on actual data in real environments, faster than documentation can keep up.
Discovery and definition happen in working models and functional prototypes. Concepts are validated in context, and iteration happens on the product itself.
Working this way also allows the product definition to carry directly into build, sustaining the vision and accelerating time to market.
Engagements
Engagements take one of three shapes, differing in depth rather than in approach.
Sprint
A sprint runs 2-4 weeks and tests whether an idea is worth pursuing. It’s the first step for most projects.
Project
A project runs 4-12 weeks, taking an idea from initial opportunity through to a defined product your team can build.
Advisory
Advisory is ongoing product direction once the work is underway. It keeps the original vision intact as your team builds.
I’m currently taking on new client work. If you’re building something new, get in touch.
